Site Reopening Thursday 1st April at 10am
The Southern Recycling Centre will reopen on Thursday 1st April at 10am.
Initially, the site will only be accepting household burnable waste (including cardboard) and green waste. Household burnable waste does not include wood.
All other waste streams are not permitted at this time. Please continue to use your local bring banks for glass, cans & paper.
Existing commercial customers may bring household burnable and green waste only until otherwise instructed.
A maximum time limit of 10 minutes per visit will be in place with a vehicle queuing system on site.
Only one person will be allowed out of a vehicle, social distancing must be observed, and face coverings must be worn whilst on site. Please only bring what you can unload yourself as our staff are unable to assist.
We will review available waste streams next week and continue to monitor Government announcements and lockdown restrictions.
Please note that the site will be closed on Good Friday (2nd April) and Easter Monday (5th April).
We would like to thank you for your patience whilst we have been closed but also remind you that the Government circuit break measures announced on Wednesday 3rd March remain in place.
“Please continue to stay at home as much as possible, except where you may need to leave your home for essential purposes.”
